Groomsmen & Bridesmaids
Michael Lenander
best man
I've known Michael most of my life, attending the same primary school, but it was at church youth group that we became close friends. We both played in the church band (me on trumpet and Michael on drums) and ran our mobile disco company (yes we were DJs once) at the weekends. Michael is probably the nicest guy I know, always looking out for others, so he's someone you can always trust! I had the honour of being Michael's best man over a decade ago, so it's time to return the favour.
Edwin Pennicott
best man
I've known Edwin pretty much all my life from year dot! There are early pictures of us dribbling and giggling at each other and not much has changed since. Over the years our love of art, film, food and looking at the world sideways has kept us the best of friends...we even managed to live with each other in Muswell Hill for a whole year! Edwin was often the source of many of our escapades and mischief, so don't believe a word he says in his speech!
Tara Wallace
bridesmaid
Tara (or Arat as she will always be known!) as my sister put up with a lot throughout our childhood! She saw me go through every chronic teenager-y phase (steering well clear of my many fashion crimes) withstood some highly questionable music tastes and over the last few months has been incredible support. She couldn't be a more kind or loving person and I'm immensely proud to be able to call her my sister. I have written this before my 'Hen' so I may be paying for some of my early behaviour later...!
Jo Gleave
bridesmaid
My lovely JoJo and I go back a full 32 years! Born in the same hospital bed only 4 days apart, she really has known me the longest. At school she was always my partner in crime and then later we spent many a university holiday in a state of 'Oceana' induced haze...! We've had countless fun times, some mad times and some absolutely wonderful times together. She is a beautiful human being and I count myself incredibly lucky to be able to call her my friend.
Amy Mcgeehin
bridesmaid
Amy and I met under a disco ball that's more or less where we remained for most of our initial years getting to know each other! I may have known her the shortest amount of time out of my bridesmaids but we've already shared a lifetime of laughter and fun. As my self-appointed (and very gratefully accepted) wing-woman, Amy saw me through my last years as a singleton with as much grace as a bucket of espresso-martinis could muster and I am immensely grateful for all the brilliant memories we created. She is one of the most thoughtful, loyal and brilliant people I know and I am so thankful for the mad night we met!
Beth Dunnett
bridesmaid
Beth and I met on my very first day at primary school after moving back to the UK. She, along with some other girls scooped me up in the playground for a game of "ponies" and "French-Elastic" (those in the know will like the retro playground game reference!) and we've been best of friends ever since. She's been with me through every heartache, helped rack up massive phone bills for our parents jabbering on into the evening, gallantly accepted my fashion crimes previously mentioned and never once wavered in being a truly wonderful friend. I love her to pieces and wouldn't be half the person I am today without her.
