Building Resilience And Opportunity For Those Most Vulnerable
Our Programmes
Silence the Violence (STV)
Silence the Violence (STV) is a creative, experiential programme, underpinned by a therapeutic process, incorporating aspects of dramatherapy. By pro-social modelling and working with both physiology and cognition, our programmes build greater self-awareness and pro-social identity on the part of participants. It’s an intervention that reduces violence and anti-social behaviour, by helping individuals to understand their behaviour, needs and impact.
Cumulatively, this can contribute to a reduction in violence/assaults within a community setting, whilst offering longer term positive effects e.g. reducing re-offending in prison; reducing exclusions in school), with other supports.
Face It
Face It is a creative and experiential learning programme, underpinned by a therapeutic process, incorporating aspects of dramatherapy. By pro-social modelling and working with both physiology and cognition, our programmes build greater self-awareness and pro-social identity on the part of participants. Lighter than our Silence the Violence programme, incorporating more games and play focused on a younger and less developed mind; it is particularly well-suited to young people facing significant personal barriers in their lives. This can include those at risk of exclusion, offending or becoming involved in gangs or who have been victims of, or witnesses to, violence and crime.
Mentoring
Milestones is a solution-focused through-the-gate mentoring programme with a 12-year history of development and testing. It includes intensive resettlement support for 6-12 months post-release, via our local volunteer network. The project currently serves released offenders, under the supervision of probation within Hampshire and Bolton.
Restorative Practice
Restorative Practice, working with like-minded restorative partners, Khulisa weaves a trauma-informed, restorative practice model through a range of programmes and interventions. Our model of systemic community restoration can be aligned for use in school, prison or neighbourhood. We can provide a range of tools and techniques (our own and those of other community experts) to build sustainability, social justice and knowledge transfer.
